American Hellenic Institute Attends Reception For Prime Minister Mitsotakis

Nick Larigakis Greeting Prime Minister Mitsotakis

WASHINGTON, DC — AHI President Nick Larigakis attended a reception in honor of the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis in New York City, September 21, 2022. In addition, the following members of the AHI Board of Directors attended: Aleco Haralambides, Dimitri Halakos, Violetta Buhler, John Vasiliou, Maria Wills, and Yanni Sianis. President Larigakis had an opportunity to engage in a discussion with Prime Minister Mitsotakis during the event. The following Greek-American organizations co-hosted the event: American Hellenic Institute (AHI), The Order of AHEPA, Hellenic American Leadership Council (HALC), Federation of Cypriot-American Organizations, Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and the Greater Delaware Valley, Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, Atlantic Bank, the Hellenic Initiative, Hellenic Lawyers Association, Hellenic Medical Society of New York, International Coordinating Committee-Justice For Cyprus (PSEKA), Leadership 100, Order of Saint Andrew The Apostle, and The Washington Oxi Day Foundation.

“I appreciated having the opportunity to speak with Prime Minister Mitsotakis during his visit,” President Larigakis said. “It is absolutely essential for frequent contact and communication between the Greek prime minister and the Greek American community because people-to-people ties are key to a strong, vibrant relationship between the United States and Greece. In addition, it is an honor for the American Hellenic Institute to co-host this illustrious event, along with the leading Greek and Cypriot American organizations.”
