AHI Holds Annual AHI & AHIF Board of Directors Retreat

Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the United States Eikaterini Nassika meets with the AHI and AHIF Board Members and staff at the Embassy of Greece in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — The Board of Directors of the American Hellenic Institute (AHI) and American Hellenic Institute Foundation (AHIF) held their annual board retreat in Washington, D.C, November 14 to 16, 2023.

During the retreat, AHI board members and staff had briefings with the following diplomats and policy influencers: Ambassador of Greece to the U.S. Eikaterini Nassika, Ambassador of Cyprus to the U.S. Evangelos Savva, Michael Rubin, senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute; Josh Huck, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, U.S. Department of State. In addition, the board received a defense policy briefing on the Hellenic Armed Forces from the Embassy of Greece Defense Attaché Colonel Panagiotis Vlachopoulos.

AHI and AHIF Board Members and staff meet with John Huck, Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, at the U.S. Department of State.

Further, Ambassador Savva hosted the board for a private reception at his residence, and the AHI board had a private dinner where they were joined by special guest U.S. Congressman Chris Pappas (D-NH), the Democratic Chair of the Congressional Hellenic Caucus.

At the end of the retreat, AHI and AHIF held a board of directors meeting to discuss matters pertinent to the two organizations.

Their participation helped to make the retreat a success.”
