Hon. B. Theodore Bozonelis
National Secretary of the Order of Saint Andrew

Mr. Bozonelis is National Secretary and Executive Committee member of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He is vice chairman of the Order’s Legal Committee and Chairman of the Order’s Patriarchal Properties and Minority Concerns Committee, which assists the Ecumenical Patriarchate on legal issues for the return of confiscated properties and developing a legal status and standing for the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Turkey.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and his J.D, Cum Laude, from George Washington University. He was nominated by the Governor of New Jersey and confirmed by the State Senate as a  judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey in 1990. He served all divisions of the state judiciary until 2011.  He was presiding judge in the Criminal Court, Equity and Family Divisions. In 2003, he was appointed as the assignment (chief) judge for Northern New Jersey Counties, where he oversaw the administration of the state courts and 56 municipal courts. In that capacity, Judge Bozonelis also served as a chairman and member of the State Judicial Council, which supervises the overall state judiciary.

He has served as a judicial master and instructor for Inns of Court, Institutes for Continuing Legal Education, and Judicial College retreats. Prior to his appointment as a state judge, he served as chairman of a State District Ethics Committee, a law clerk of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, Washington, D.C., and as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey. He also served as of counsel to the law firm of Graham Curtin in New Jersey, providing services in mediation, arbitration and special master matters.  He was appointed to the New Jersey Governor’s Judicial Advisory Panel and serves as a trustee of The Nicholas J. and Anna K. Bouras Foundation.

Dr. elizabeth h. prodromou
visiting associate professor of conflict resolution at tufts university

Dr. Elizabeth H. Prodromou is a member of the teaching faculty at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, where she directs the Initiative on Religion, Law, and Diplomacy. She is a non-resident Senior Fellow and Co-Chair of the Working Group on Christians and Religious Pluralism in the Middle East, at the Center for Religious Freedom at the Hudson Institute, and was a non-resident Senior Fellow in National Security and the Middle East, at the Center for American Progress. She is a Co- President of Religions for Peace International. Prodromou served as Vice Chair and Commissioner on the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (2004-2012) and was a member of the U.S. Secretary of State’s Religion & Foreign Policy Working Group (2011-2015). Her research interests focus on geopolitics and religion, with particular focus on the intersection of religion, democracy, and security in the Middle East and Southeastern Europe. Her current research projects focus on Orthodox Christianity and geopolitics in Eurasia, as well as on digital information and mixed migration flows in Greece. Published widely in scholarly and policy journals, she is a frequent commentator and contributor in US and international media. She has been involved in research and advisory work for international and non-governmental organizations on religious freedom and human rights, and is active in religious peacebuilding initiatives around the world. She is co-editor and contributor for Eastern Orthodox Christianity and American Higher Education (2016) and Thinking Through Faith: New Perspectives from Orthodox Christian Scholars (2008). She holds a Ph.D. and an S.M. in political science from MIT, an M.A.L.D. in international relations from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University), and a B.A. in history and international relations from Tufts University. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, and is the recipient of a Distinguished Service Award from the Tufts University Alumni Association.

Piero A. Tozzi
Senior Foreign Policy Advisor and Counsel to Rep. Christopher H. Smith (R-NJ)

Piero A. Tozzi is Republican Staff Director for the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, in addition to serving as Senior Foreign Policy Adviser & Counsel to Rep. Christopher H. Smith (R-NJ). He previously held the position of Staff Director and Counsel for the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. from Columbia University. 

 In his various roles, Piero has conducted oversight of US global health and food security programs, as well as monitored human rights issues in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. He also has been tasked with overview of international organizations, in particular the United Nations. Piero meets with political and opposition leaders on a regular basis, engages with civil society organizations and other stakeholders, and negotiates the advancement of legislation within the Foreign Affairs Committee, other House Committees with overlapping jurisdiction and with the Senate, in particular the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. 

 Piero previously practiced commercial litigation for Winston & Strawn LLP before spending time in the non-profit field. He has authored numerous articles on international law, constitutional law and comparative constitutional law, and his work has been cited by the United States Supreme Court. In addition, he has submitted friend of the court briefs to the Supreme Courts of Mexico and Argentina, as well as the Interamerican Court of Human Rights.

John is an award-winning broadcast journalist for WCBS and Bloomberg Radio. He previously anchored and reported for CNN, CNBC and WCBS-TV. John is an attorney and graduate of Columbia Law and Journalism. He is a member of SAG-AFTRA and serves on the union's national broadcast steering committee. He podcasts on Apple and at JohnMetaxas.com. Additionally, John is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and has travelled to Istanbul to speak about religious freedom issues.
