Department of Defense Responds to Congressman Sarbanes�s Letter Regarding Inaccuracies of Turkey�s Role in WWII
WASHINGTON, DC—The following letter (click here), dated August 13, 2009, is from Bryan G. Whitman, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, is in response to Congressman John Sarbanes (D-MD) letter written on June 2, 2009 to the Department of Defense regarding an erroneous statement in which it was reported that Turkey fought alongside the United States in WWII.
