WASHINGTON, DC—Paying a visit to the American Hellenic Institute on March 24, 2008, was a Greek delegation led by Greek Minister of Development Christos Folias, and included Mr. Gabriel Coptsidis, Director of the Minister’s Diplomatic Cabinet, Mr. Spiridon Rizopoulos and Mr. Nikolaos Lerios, Advisors to the Minister, and Mr. Sotiris Folias, the Minister of Development’s son. Accompanying the delegation was the Ambassador of Greece, Alexandros Mallias. While at the Hellenic House, the Minister met with members of the AHI leadership, including AHI President Gene Rossides, AHI Legal Counsel, Nick Karambelas, and AHI Executive Director Nick Larigakis.
Also present during the discussion were AHI members Maria Papathanassiou, editor for the European Institute, Aki Bayz, Attorney for Morrison & Foerster, Vasiliki Tsaganos, Partner at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobsen and Maria Stamoulas, Attorney for Facer & Stamoulas.
During the meeting, the discussion centered on items of mutual interest. Mr. Folias also provided an overview regarding the very important role that Greece is playing in the area of energy in Southeastern Europe.
"We were honored to have Minister Folias visit Hellenic House. We look forward to working together in the future to facilitate common objectives to strengthen U.S. relations with Greece via business-related opportunities," said AHI President Gene Rossides.
