WASHINGTON, DC—On March 5, 2008, the Greek Deputy Minister of Development Stavros Kalafatis, accompanied by Karlos Gadis, Deputy Chief of Mission to the Greek Embassy in Washington D.C., and Mr. Nikolaos Tritaris, Director of the Development Minister’s Office, visited the American Hellenic Institute’s headquarters, the Hellenic House. While at Hellenic House, the Minister met with members of the AHI leadership, including AHI Chairman James Marketos, AHI President Gene Rossides, and Executive Director Nick Larigakis.
During the meeting, the discussion centered on items of mutual interest. Mr. Kalafatis emphasized Greece’s interest in pursuing the area of energy and alternative energy resources and the role that it can play in the region.
"We were honored to have Minister Kalafatis visit Hellenic House. We look forward to working together in the future to facilitate common objectives to strengthen U.S. relations with Greece via business-related opportunities," said AHI President Gene Rossides.
