WASHINGTON, DCIn a phone conversation that took place late this afternoon between AHI Executive Director Nick Larigakis and the Vice President of Public Affairs for American Express Bank, it was confirmed that American Express Bank Ltd. had never had any plan to participate in the forthcoming U.S. business delegation trip to the occupied northern part of Cyprus on February 17, 2005.
Subsequently, in a letter faxed this afternoon to the AHI from American Express Bank it states, while we were invited to attend, we notified the organization sponsoring this trip that we would not be participating. Unfortunately, they inadvertently included us in the list of attendees by mistake.###

THE AMERICAN HELLENIC Institute (AHI), was founded on August 1, 1974, following Turkey’s invasion of Cyprus with the illegal use of American-supplied arms in violation of U.S. laws and agreements. The AHI initiated the rule of law issue in the Congress in the interests of the U.S., thus changing the face of American politics. <<<Continue>>>
