I write to inform you that you have been misled by Turkey’s military and political officials regarding the assertions in the joint letter of November 9, 2001 to President Bush signed by 36 Representatives.

Enclosed for your information is a copy of my letter of November 21, 2001 to President Bush, which sets forth in detail the facts which refute the assertions in the November 9 letter. I hope that you would consider withdrawing the letter in view of its factual inaccuracies.
